Pages from Teshuva.jpg

Can Teshuva Be Commanded?

תשובה sounds simple: recognize the mistake, feel regret, resolve to change. But the רמב״ם lists only וידוי as a formal obligation, which raises a question about the inner work of תשובה: is it a מצוה at all? This booklet explores why a genuine return to ה׳ can't be mandated: it expresses the part of the soul that lies beyond all מצוות, and it is part of who we already are.

Yehudis: The Heroine Behind the Miracle of Chanuka

The story of Chanukah includes two brave women whose actions helped drive the revolt against the Greeks. This booklet opens with their story from אוצר המדרשים, then asks what it means for how women observe Chanukah. It explains why the miracle came about through a woman, and why that role has placed women at the center of redemption throughout our history.

Esther Cover.jpg

The Hidden Face of Esther

Esther's name shares a root with הסתר, hiddenness, and this booklet follows that theme through the Purim story. It contrasts the open miracles of יציאת מצרים with the hidden miracles of Purim, where Hashem is concealed inside events that looked entirely natural. Drawing on תורה אור, it explains what Esther represents within each Jewish soul, and why Purim will still be celebrated in the time of Moshiach.

Rus.jpg

Rus: The Silent Giver

מגילת רות is one of the shortest books in תנ״ך, a plain story of loss and loyalty set during the barley harvest. On the surface Rus is a quiet figure, but almost everything she does is for someone else, done without fanfare and often without anyone noticing. This booklet looks at that חסד; what it is, where it comes from, and why it is tied to the giving of the Torah at Sinai.

Chana cover-01.png

Chana: The Paradigm of Prayer

What is תפילה really about? On ראש השנה especially, it is about standing before Hashem and crowning Him king. Yet it is also where we ask for what we need, with thirteen of the nineteen ברכות in שמונה עשרה being requests. So which is it: setting our will aside in awe, or looking inward at what we lack? This booklet explores that question through the story of Chana.

Tu Bshvat cover.jpg

Tu B'Shvat: Savoring the Sweetness of Torah

Why does the Jewish calendar mark the "birthday of the trees" as a holiday? The fruit tree stands out: where grain gives the body basic nourishment, fruit is something we taste and enjoy. That points to how תורה feeds the soul, not only as sustenance but as the pleasure of connecting with Hashem, the same fullness that ט״ו בשבט celebrates.

Pesach covers.jpg

Bread of Faith: Nurturing Our Inner Child

Why do we eat מצה on Pesach? The Torah doesn't only tell us to remember the Exodus; it tells us to eat מצה and מרור, drink four cups of wine, and say the הגדה. If the point were just to remember, wouldn't the story be enough? This booklet explores the answer: we come to know Hashem through experience, and מצה is the spiritual food that feeds our childlike faith.

Three Weeks cover.png

Misplaced Humility

The Three Weeks mourn the loss of both Batei Mikdash. The sins behind the first destruction were open and recognizable, but the second is harder to explain: that generation was learned and observant, yet the גמרא points to שנאת חינם and to a failure of leadership it describes as too humble. What kind of humility leads to destruction? The sources explore when humility turns harmful and what real leadership looks like in everyday moral decisions.

Not ready for a full year?

You can run a single event for $400.

It includes ten printed booklets with sources, summaries, and discussion questions, a recorded class, and a customizable flyer template.

Event orders must be placed at least 3 weeks before your event.
